Also known as Senecio rowleyanus. This blog includes a care guide to care for one of the most complicated succulents in the string-of-things family. Along with an easy propagation method.
Light

When it comes to lighting, string of pearls need "top light". Place your plant at a height and location where the crown of the plant gets hit by the sunlight or grow light (see image above to know where the crown is). Six to eight hours of light is recommended.
Watering

This is the most important thing you will ever read when it comes to string of pearls. This is also the leading cause of plant deaths in the string of pearls community, But have no fear! This is what's been working best for me. Read this very closely... Only water your plant when the pearls start to shrivel! Once the little slits start to get smaller and the pearls start to shrink, then you water it. Do not constantly water it and do not follow the "water when the soil is completely dry" method either. Simply wait until it is visible that your string of pearls needs water. This will save you from rotting your plant. When it comes to how you should water it, that depends on you. you can top water, which is what I do, or you can bottom water. Some say that top watering causes rot, but I have not had that issue. To avoid this water in the morning so that your plant has enough time throughout the day for the crown to dry out. If you'd like to be more cautious then you can bottom water and allow the soil to soak up as much water as it needs.
Soil & potting

A well draining succulent soil is all you need. When choosing a pot choose one with a drainage hole or follow our other methods to create drainage. Make sure that your String of pearls sit at the very top of the pot. This plant grows shallow roots and grows in length instead of height. Keeping it at the brim of the pot will ensure that the crown of the plant is receiving light.
Fertilizing

Fertilizing once a month at half strength of the reccomended dosage is best practice during the growing season. The growing season for string of pearls is mid-spring to summer. Avoid fertilizing too often because this can also cause your plant to die. For fertilizer options view the above images or click here.
Propagation

Once your string of pearls start to grow long, you can snip off about a finger length of the vine. Place a few of these on top of succulent soil in a shallow pot. The roots will begin to grow slowly over time.
